Overview

Monero One is a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

The app has no accounts. Your wallet runs on your device. It connects to a Monero node to sync and send, and to our server for prices. Each of those sees your IP address, as described below.

• The app does not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not collect analytics or usage data from the app.
• We do not use advertising IDs or third-party ad tracking.
• Your wallet keys and seed phrase are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

Network Connections

Monero One connects to a Monero node to sync your wallet and send transactions. We run node.monero.one and two Tor onion nodes. On iPhone, node.monero.one is the default node. On Android, a new install starts on one of several public nodes that others run, and node.monero.one is also in the list. You can choose another node or add your own in settings.

Any node your wallet uses, including ours, sees your device's IP address, when your wallet syncs, and the transactions you send. It does not get your keys or your balance. To keep your IP address private from the node, run your own node, or use Tor through Orbot.

When you open node settings, the app checks how fast each listed node responds. On iPhone, it also downloads public uptime data for those nodes from GitHub, and these checks skip the app's Tor proxy setting.

Price Data

The app gets XMR prices, charts and exchange rates from our server at monero.one. Our server gets this data from CoinMarketCap and open.er-api.com, so your device does not contact them. These requests include no wallet information. Our server sees your device's IP address.

Email Signup

If you sign up on our website, we store your email address and the platform you pick (iPhone or Android). We use them to send you product updates and beta invites. We store them with Amazon Web Services and send our emails through Amazon SES. For a beta, we may add your email address to Apple TestFlight (iPhone) or to our Google Play test list (Android), and Apple or Google then emails you the invite. Every email from us has an unsubscribe link. We do not sell your email address.

Third-Party Services

The apps include no advertising or crash-reporting SDKs, and they send us no analytics.

The Android app scans QR codes with Google ML Kit. The scan runs on your phone, and ML Kit never sends the camera image or the code. ML Kit does send Google metrics about how the scanner performs and is used: the phone model and OS version, the app version, a per-install ID, and scan times and errors. Google lists these metrics on its ML Kit data disclosure page. The iPhone app does not use ML Kit. It scans QR codes with Apple's built-in camera tools.

If you tap a link to a block explorer or to our website, the page opens in a web browser. That site sees your device's IP address.

Data Security

Your wallet data is encrypted and stored locally on your device. We use industry-standard security practices including PIN protection and encrypted seed phrase storage.

Children's Privacy

Monero One is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
