Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Monero One mobile application (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
Self-Custody Wallet
Monero One is a self-custody (non-custodial) cryptocurrency wallet. This means:
- You control your keys. Your wallet seed phrase is the only way to access your funds. We do not have access to it.
- You are responsible for your seed phrase. If you lose your seed phrase, your funds cannot be recovered. There is no “forgot password” option.
- Transactions are irreversible. Once a Monero transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, it cannot be reversed, canceled, or modified.
- You are responsible for security. Protect your device, PIN, and seed phrase from unauthorized access.
Risk Acknowledgment
By using Monero One, you acknowledge and accept the following risks:
- Cryptocurrency volatility: The value of Monero (XMR) can fluctuate significantly. You may lose some or all of your investment.
- Regulatory uncertainty: Cryptocurrency regulations vary by jurisdiction and may change. You are responsible for compliance with applicable laws.
- Technical risks: Software may contain bugs. While we strive for security and reliability, no software is perfect.
- Network risks: The Monero network is decentralized. Network issues, forks, or attacks could affect transactions.
- User error: Sending funds to the wrong address, losing your seed phrase, or other user errors may result in permanent loss of funds.
Permitted Use
You may use Monero One to:
- Create and restore Monero wallets
- Send and receive Monero (XMR)
- View your transaction history and balance
- Interact with the Monero blockchain through remote nodes
You agree not to use the App for any illegal activities or to violate any applicable laws in your jurisdiction.
No Financial Advice
Nothing in this App constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Cryptocurrency investment involves significant risk. Consult with qualified professionals before making any financial decisions.
Third-Party Services
The App connects to third-party services including:
- Monero remote nodes: To sync your wallet with the Monero blockchain
- Price data providers: To display current XMR prices
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. WE MAKE NO GUARANTEES ABOUT THE ACCURACY OF PRICE DATA OR OTHER INFORMATION DISPLAYED IN THE APP.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF FUNDS, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP (WHICH IS ZERO FOR A FREE APPLICATION).
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Monero One, its developers, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these terms.
Open Source License
Monero One is open source software. The source code is available on GitHub and is subject to its respective open source license. These Terms of Service apply to your use of the compiled application distributed through the App Store.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or by updating this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
